As Tahuna Pod Hostel is a shared space accommodation environment we don’t allow children under the age of 18 stay with us. We apologise for an inconvenience caused.

8.  What are pods and what type of pods do you offer?

Our pods are fully enclosed spaces with solid wooden walls providing a high level of privacy, with the exception of a curtain at one end of the pod to allow for access. We strive to offer a balance of privacy and convenience for all our guests.

We have 2 types of pods - Single and Queen. Our 'Single' pods are unique in size, as they are the width of a classic single-sized mattress with additional length to accommodate our taller travellers (this is known as a 'King Single'). Our 'Queen' pods are the same length as the 'Single' pods but with added width for extra comfort (i.e. the size of a queen-sized mattress).

9. How many people can sleep in one Pod?

To ensure guest comfort and comply with occupancy regulations, each pod is limited to one person, whether it's a single or queen size.

If more than one person attempts to share a pod, you will be required to book an additional pod (subject to availability). If no extra pods are available, one guest will need to vacate the property, and no refunds will be given if all guests choose to leave. If more than one person does share a pod beyond the available beds and room occupancy, that additional person will be charged the full price for the bed. If payment cannot be taken from the additional person who slept in the guest's bed, the reservation allocated to that bed will be charged instead.

We have private rooms available for couples.

17. What is the best way to get to/from the airport from Tahuna Pod Hostel?

AIRPORT TO HOSTEL (BUS)

Due to recent roadworks in the Queenstown Centre, the best way to get to the hostel from the Queenstown Airport is to catch the #1 bus from the airport to the temporary bus stop located near 7 Shotover Street (next to Four Square Queenstown). We are then a short 3-minute away. This bus departs from the airport every 15 minutes from 6:15am - 12:15am (midnight). A one-way ticket will cost $10 (cash only, paid to the driver) unless you purchase a reloadable 'Bee Card' for $10 ($5 card purchase, $5 credit) which can then be used for multiple bus rides. You can purchase a Bee Card at the airport from a store called Paper Plus, or from the bus driver but payment can only be with cash for this option. If you have a Bee Card, a one-way bus ride will then cost $2.

HOSTEL TO AIRPORT (BUS)

To go to the airport from the hostel, you can catch the #1 bus from the temporary bus stop located near 19 Shotover St (in front of Queenstown Dominos), which is 3-minute walk from the hostel. This bus departs every 15 minutes from 6:25am - 12:25am (midnight). A one-way ticket will cost $10 (cash only, paid to the driver) unless you purchase a reloadable 'Bee Card' for $10 ($5 card purchase, $5 credit) which can then be used for multiple bus rides. You can purchase a Bee Card from the i-SITE store in central Queenstown (22 Shotover Street), or from the bus driver but payment can only be with cash for this option. If you have a Bee Card, a one-way bus ride will then cost $2.

OTHER OPTIONS

Another option for getting to/from the airport is to book a ticket with the Super Shuttle. This option is $20 for a one-way ticket which will drop you directly to the hostel/airport.

Alternatively, taxis will cost around $50 - $65 - we recommend Queenstown Taxis for their reasonable and fair pricing.

18. Can you recommend any places to eat or activities to do?

Yes! Come see reception or email ahead! Our staff all know Queenstown well and are more than happy to recommend some of their favourite things to do and places to eat.

If you have booked a room through a third-party online travel agent (such as Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda and Hostelworld.com), any cancellations or modifications must be made directly through that platform.
